1. What this covers
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session tokens) MHE uses when you visit app.myhealthengineer.com, why we use them, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
2. Our approach
MHE keeps this deliberately small. We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in, and no non-essential cookie for analytics — our analytics provider (PostHog) runs in cookieless mode, meaning it does not set a persistent identifier in your browser to track you across sessions. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies of any kind.
This is possible because MHE is a signed-in app. Most sites need a tracking cookie to recognise an anonymous visitor from one page to the next; we do not, because your session already tells us who you are. Since we store and read nothing on your device for analytics, the consent requirement that applies to cookies and similar storage does not arise. Analytics instead runs under legitimate interest, with an opt-out you control — see our Privacy Policy §7.

Device storage that is not cookies
These are not cookies. They are settings the app saves in your browser so it looks and behaves the way you left it. They stay on your device, they are never sent to us, and none of them identify you. Clearing your browser data removes them and the app resets to its defaults.

4. Your choices
The session cookie is required for the app to function — if you decline it, you won't be able to stay signed in. Analytics is optional: because it stores nothing on your device and carries no health information, it runs by default under legitimate interest, and you can switch it off from your account settings at any time. Your choice takes effect immediately. It is stored against your account rather than in a cookie, so it follows you to every device you sign in from and survives clearing your browser. The device settings listed above are cleared when you clear your browser data.
5. Changes to this policy
If we introduce any new cookie, local-storage item, or tracking technology — including if we ever add marketing or advertising cookies — we will update this page, bump the "Last updated" date, and where required, re-prompt for consent. We do not currently plan to add advertising cookies.
