Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-08-15
1. Who we are
My Health Engineer ("MHE", "we") is the registered business name (Companies Registration Office no. 768945) of Keith Young, a sole trader based in Ireland, trading as My Health Engineer. Contact: support@myhealthengineer.com.
2. What My Health Engineer is and what it isn't
The paid product is premium membership of the My Health Engineer Skool community. Premium membership includes the premium services provided within that community and access to the app at app.myhealthengineer.com. What the community offers is described inside the community and will evolve over time, so these Terms deliberately do not enumerate it: they govern the app. One-to-one consultations are not included in membership; they are a separate paid service, arranged and paid for within Skool, and these Terms do not govern them beyond noting that they are separate. These Terms apply to anyone who holds an app account, whatever tier of membership gave them access.
MHE provides educational health content, planning tools (recipes, macro and fasting planners, trackers, journals), and structured programs across five pillars: sleep, stress, movement, hydration, and nutrition.
MHE is not a medical provider. Nothing in the app, programs, or accompanying content is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The information is built on published mechanisms and evidence-based practices, but it is general education. Decisions about your health should be made with a qualified clinician who knows you.
3. Eligibility and why we ask for your date of birth
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. This matches the Irish Data Protection Act 2018, which sets the digital age of consent at 16. If you create an account under 16, we'll close it on discovery and delete the associated data.
We ask for your date of birth on the welcome step, not just a "yes, I'm 16+" checkbox, for two reasons:
- Legal verification. Storing the actual DOB gives us a verifiable record that you were 16+ when consent was given. A bare checkbox doesn't hold up under audit; a DOB does.
- Better recommendations. Sleep, stress, movement, hydration, and nutrition needs shift across life stages. A 22-year-old in early career, a 35-year-old building a family, and a 55-year-old in perimenopause have different physiology. Knowing your age lets the planners and content surface advice that fits where you actually are rather than generic averages.
Your date of birth lives in your profile and is never sold or shared. You can change it any time from your profile page if you entered it wrong.
4. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. Turn on two-factor authentication from your account settings. Health data deserves the extra lock.
You agree to provide truthful information at sign-up and during onboarding. We use the data you give us (date of birth, height, current health concerns, medical conditions you choose to share) to personalise targets and surface relevant content. You can edit or remove this data any time.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: share your account credentials, use the service to harass others (no public-facing community features ship at v1 but this still applies if any are added), reverse-engineer or attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or the underlying systems, or scrape content for redistribution.
6. Health information
If something we surface contradicts your doctor's advice, follow your doctor. Don't change medications, diagnostic monitoring, or treatments based on MHE content without speaking to your clinician first.
If you experience symptoms that worry you (chest pain, unusual shortness of breath, severe mood changes, anything that feels wrong), contact emergency services or your doctor. Do not wait for an app notification.
7. Subscriptions and payments
What you pay for is premium membership of the My Health Engineer Skool community. The app is included with that membership rather than sold separately. The current price is shown at the Skool checkout before you pay, and you will not be charged anything you have not seen first.
Payment is processed by Skool as merchant of record. MHE does not handle or store your card details. Prices shown are exclusive of VAT, and Skool adds VAT at checkout at the rate applicable to where you are (23% in Ireland). Skool collects and remits that VAT.
MHE does not offer a money-back guarantee beyond your statutory rights. Your statutory EU right of withdrawal for digital services, and how to request a refund, are set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
8. Your data
We hold your data on EU-based infrastructure (Supabase Frankfurt; PostHog EU Cloud for analytics). We treat your account as a longitudinal health record across life stages, meaning we retain it as long as your consent stands. We will ask you to re-affirm or revoke that consent at least every 24 months, starting 24 months after it was given (so the first prompts fall due from mid-2028).
You can export your full data as a JSON file from your account page at any time, and you can delete your account permanently from that same page (the action cascades to all your data).
Our Privacy Policy sets out the Article 13 and 14 disclosures required under GDPR.
9. Termination
You can close your account any time from your account settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, usually after a warning, except in cases of serious abuse.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Irish law, MHE is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. The content and tools are provided "as is"; while we work hard to keep recommendations grounded in current evidence, we don't warrant outcomes.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
If you are a consumer, nothing above takes away rights you have where you live. You keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country, and you can bring proceedings there rather than in Ireland if you prefer.
12. Changes to these terms
We'll update this page when the terms change, with the "Last updated" date at the top reflecting the most recent revision. We'll flag material changes in-app at your next sign-in.
